A love affair begins - Colouring challenge

The weekly challenges are continuing over on the shop blog... But from now on there will just be a challenge each saturday... There will still be a £10.00 e voucher for the shop for one lucky person who gives us a link to their layout or card...

This weekend it is Karen's turn to set us a challenge and she wants us all to colour something...:D This can be using paints, watercolour pencils whatever you want to use...

I have done an example with some papers that will be going onto the shop later this week... They are by My Mind's Eye and will be used in a scrapbook kit... Alot of the items are from the kit... But I have added my own alpha, red ribbons, small brown flower and polka dot brad...

The layout is of Milly my mother in law's new labrador puppy... The photo was taken last week when my husband was down in the Midlands visiting his mum.

She's pretty in pink...

Today's Sunday challenge over on the shop blog is by Samm... and she has challenged us all to do a lo or card using just one colour...

My layout is of a friend's little girl and shows her very much pretty in pink...

I've used some Elsie Betty papers, a large angel kiss and the center of the flower is actually one of a pack of badges that I bought in paperchase recently...

Something old... Something new...

It's saturday again so time for a new challenge over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog...
Today it is Maria's turn... And she wants to challenge us all to think of that old rhyme...

Something old,
Something new,
Something borrowed
and
Something blue...

Where the "borrowed" has to be using something not normally found in your scrapbook stash...

I have made a card using Season of Joy

The something old is a card blank from QVC that I have had for years.

The Something new is using a triangle punch I got that morning.

The Something borrowed is bracelet beads from a Bratz jewellery making kit from M&S.

And finally the something blue is having blue christmas trees using the Scrapworks papers from the shop...

Do pop over to the shop blog and leave us a link to your creation... It can be a card or layout it is up to you - the winner of the random draw of entries will win a £10.00 e-voucher for the shop...

Doodling on down...

Another Sunday and another challenge over on the shop blog...

It is my turn again today... My challenge to you is to get down with some doodling... You can either use one of those doodling templates that were so popular earlier in the year - or just go mad and doodle away yourself to your heart's content...

I've done two examples... The first is a card using the Roxy kit

The second is a lo also using the Roxy kit (Plus a few bits and pieces from my own stash...) Bit of deja vue here as I have used the same photo i used for the weekly challenge on UKS earlier in the week...

As usual you have a week to go to the shop blog and leave a link to your entry - and one lucky winner drawn from the hat will win a £10.00 e - voucher to spend in the shop...

Sketch me a sketch...

Hello another weekend and a new challenge on the shop blog...

Today it is Angie's turn and she has given us all a sketch challenge. Full details of the sketch are over on the shop blog.
For my example I decided to use the seeds kit that we had in the shop earlier this year... Unfortunatly this is now out of stock - but there is loads of other scrummy goodies over there.

So my example - This photo of me was taken on the recent lurve thread retreat i went on... I hardly ever scrap photos of me...

The journalling reads -

It's strange as you get older - your body seems to change around you. Bits that were perky and proud start to go south all of their own accord... You can tell your eyesight is getting worse... Still at least that means you don't have to worry so much about what you can see in the mirror... Me - I'm happy as myself... Are you?

Some True Friends and a reindeer...

I don't seem to have time recently to do the weekly challenges on Uks... but this morning i decided to make the time and made this lo... The challenge was to use a sketch and a photo showing friends or family... I've used a group photo from the recent lurve thread weekend retreat i went on... Twelve of us off the thread hired a large cottage and enjoyed a weekend of scrapping, chatting, drinking champagne and eating too much food...

For once recently i didn't use shop stash but went back to BG urban couture...:D

I also thought i should pop on this card i made late last week using the season of joy papers...

It's time for pockets...

Todays new challenge over on the shop blog has been set by Vanessa... She has challenged us all to use pockets somewhere on a card or layout.

My first example is a card I have done using the Scrapworks Season of joy papers - I've actually done two cards - same design just using different papers from the range...

My second example is a layout of Molly - using Mellow

My first challenge - over on the shop blog...

We are taking it in turns to make the challenges over on the new shop blog

Today it is my turn... Its a bit of a joke that all of my work contains stitching... faux stitching... So the first part of my challenge is to get out those needles and thread and use some real stitching on your lo or card... The second part is to use part of that felt mountain we have been stocking up this year... so use either felt or velvet on your lo or card...

Here are the two examples i have made -
The first is a card using the new Scrapworks Season of joy papers - we will also have a limited edition kit using these papers going on the site next week.

My second example is using the Chalk Garden kit and Maya Road velvet blossoms these are currently in our new clearance section - along with various other scrummy things...

Don't forget to pop over to the shop blog and take part in the challenge... You have a week to put a link to you creation and could be the lucky winner of a £10.00 e voucher for the shop

Scrapworks - season of joy

Here are some quick cards i have done today using the new Scrapworks papers - Season of joy
At the moment these are on the site just as loose papers... but there will be a limited edition kit going on the site later in the week...

Sunday 4th November - second shop challenge

Here is the second of our challenges.... this time Samm has challenged us to use scallops somewhere on a layout or card... I decided to use the chalk garden kit
The layout shows Molly pondering the mysteries of life... (all I added to the kit was a small piece of 7 gypsies life tape...)
Don't forget to pop over to the shop blog to see what the rest of the team have made and show us a link tou your creations...

Saturday 3rd November - first shop blog challenge

Today marks the start of the challenges over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog...

Maria has set the first challenge to use acetate somewhere on a layout or card...
I've used the mellow kit from the shop to do mine...

It shows molly on one of her many walks over the common...

The acetate was used to make the flowers in the bottom left hand corner - i used acrylic paints to decorate acetate punched flowers...

Don't forget there will an e-voucher prize for the shop for the winner of each challenge...
So pop over to the shop blog to leave a link to your creation....

Chalk Garden Cards

Today i have finally doing some work with the Chalk Garden Card making kit from the Scrummy Stash Cafe... I havn't done any of the Uks cc challenges or classes yet - so decided to use the kit to do some of the cardmaking challenges from the final sunday of the cyber crop... I also made one card using basic grey mellow papers...

Ooh Miss Grace

I finally got around to doing the weekly challenge on Uks on friday... We had to use the word "grace" in the lo somehow... I decided to use a song from my childhood and "Ooh Miss Grace" by the thymes... As you can see from my playlist on here - there was quite a 60's music influence in my life... That's what comes of being the baby of the family when your older brother and sister were older enough to be teenagers in the 60's... The photo is of Molly... I'm amazed i had never used this picture before as it was my avatar on quite a few forums for a long time...

It's a mystery...

Actually the biggest mystery is why do me and maria always buy the cc mystery kit on UKS...? We always moan we don't know what to do with them... But are always there the next cc waiting for them to go on sale...

This time it was pastel papers that i really didn't know what to do with... so i decided to stick to what i know best... and made yet another exploding box...

Back again...

Well i am already turning into a naughty blogger - with hardly any posts...

This time last week i was recovering from the lurve thread retreat... We had a great time - drinking champagne, eating lots of lovely food, and spending time with the most lurvely people i know...

I've just about recovered now... and here are some of the things i have been working on lately...

Well i may as well make a start...

Maria's kits are so gorgeous... and i am so lucky to be on such a lovely design team with the other girls...

Welcome

Hello - welcome to my random thoughts...

I always said i would never have a blog... So i'm not too sure how this will go...

At the moment i am planning mainly for this be be used to show things i have made for the scrummy stash cafe...
